25 | On 12/13/22, Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Melissa Guirit and Melissa Domantay met with Vice Principal, Theresa Kukla for a Required 1 Year inspection. Per Vice Principal, center Director is absent today. The facility was toured to conduct a Health and Safety Inspection. Present during today's inspection were Vice Principal and 4 staff. There were 27 preschool children present during today's inspection. All adults present today are fingerprint cleared and associated. The center operates Monday through Friday from 6:30am to 6:30am.
LPA toured the classrooms with Director. The program operates in 3 classroom. Disinfectants, cleaning solutions, and other items that are dangerous to the health and safety of children were stored in places inaccessible to them. Furniture and equipment were age appropriate and in good condition, free of sharp, loose, or pointed parts. Restrooms for children were observed to be in safe, sanitary, and functioning condition. Floors were clean and free from tripping hazard. Trash cans for solid waste had tight-fitting covers and were in good repair. LPA observed 3A40BC Fire extinguishers, combination smoke and Carbon Monoxide Detectors. The last Fire Drill was conducted on 11/29/2022. Vice Principal is reminded that fire drills should be conducted at least every 6 months. The center is equipped with a fully stocked first aid Kit and working telephone. Facility does not provide transportation for children, but facility understands that children cannot be left alone, unattended in parked vehicles. Facility’s License, Parents’ Rights Poster PUB 393, Personal Rights, and Activity Schedules were observed to be posted. Isolation area for sick children in the front office.
Outdoor playground was inspected and observed to be safe. Vice Principal is reminded that 100% supervision of children must be provided. All climbing equipment is properly anchored to the ground with adequate and appropriate cushioning under them. A waiver is in place for sharing the outdoor area with the elementary school.
