On 5/25/21 at 9:30am Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Michelle Sutton and Monica Mathur conducted a Case Management at Neighborhood School at Kensington Elementary for the Preschool component licensed to operate in Portable 2. Licensee has requested to reactivate the license from inactive status. The program is located on the premises of Kensington Hilltop Elementary. The preschool program has a waiver for shared playground with the school age program. LPAs met with licensee Jill Houghton and also present were two other staff members. Licensee stated they will be operating a summer program using portable 2 and requested for use of portable 1 also, which is licensed for use by their School Age program. The summer camp/program will run from June 1st through August 1st, Monday-Friday from 8am-5pm. With LPM Johnson approval, Licensee is approved to operate the summer program using both portables 1 and 2 till August 1, provided there are no school-aged children present while preschool age is present. Licensee stated that regular preschool program will start in September when the school district reopens. Staff has updated CPR and first Aid certified and mandated reporting training.

At 10:30am LPAs inspected Portables 1 and 2. There is a fire extinguisher near the front door (size of 2A10BC). There are working smoke and carbon monoxide detectors and a fire pull system installed. Drinking water is regularly available for children. LPAs observed carpets in Portable 2 had several large spots and reminded licensee that they should be clean before operating summer program. Licensee stated professional carpet cleaners are coming next weekend. Each portable has its own bathroom which meet the requirements of Licensing. Cleaning products and hand sanitizer are kept inaccessible to children.
