25 | On 01/17/2020, Licensing Program Analysts (LPA) Melissa Guirit and Loretta Dyson met with Director Stephanie Holt for an UNANNOUNCED ANNUAL RANDOM INSPECTION. Present for this inspection were six staff members and 15 infants. The facility was toured to conduct a Health and Safety Inspection. The facility's operating hours are from 6:30 AM to 6:30 PM.
The center has sufficient heating, ventilation and lighting for safety and comfort. The infant component is sectioned off into three sections that include the snack area, activity area, and sleeping/crib area. Each area is separated by either safety gates or doorways. There are ample age appropriate toys that appear to be safe and in good condition. LPA observed two cribs that are in good condition and properly placed in a separate area. LPA observed a sufficient number of mats which are stored appropriately. There are no bodies of water accessible to children in care. The furniture and equipment is in safe condition and is free from sharp, loose or pointed parts. The facility has a fully charged 3A40BC fire extinguisher, working smoke detector, working carbon monoxide detector, working telephone, and First Aid Kit. Facility's last fire drill was on 12/11/2019. All hazardous materials and toxins are kept out of the reach of children. All hand washing and cleaning areas are in safe and sanitary operating condition. All storage containers for solid waste had a tight-fitting cover on. All surfaces accessible to children are clean and toxic free. The sign in/out clipboard was reviewed and the number of children present matched the number of children that are signed in. Snack is provided by the facility and the menu is posted and visible for review. LPA toured the kitchen to inspect the food provided to children in care. Whole milk is available to be served to children in care. LPA observed frozen breast milk and bottled milk in the kitchen's freezer and refrigerator in the snack area. The milk was correctly labeled with the date and child's name. In the crib area, LPA also observed individual bags that appear to carry each child's own food from home. The outdoor play area is completely fenced and is separate from the preschool component with a locked gate.
