25 | Licensing Program Analysts (LPA) Cherie Acosta and Brindha Govindasamy conducted an unannounced Annual Required inspection. Present during today’s inspection was the licensee, her fingerprint cleared husband and fingerprint cleared sister-in-law/assistant. There were 4 infants, 3 preschool aged children, and 1 school aged child in care.
The home was toured for Health and Safety Inspection. On limits area consist of the living room, dining room, kitchen, 3 bedrooms, and hallway bathroom. Off limits area consist of the master bedroom, master bathroom and garage. Licensee is currently having an in ground pool constructed. The backyard is off limits to children in care during the construction. Construction workers enter the backyard through the backyard gate, they do not come in the home or in contact with children in care. The 5 foot fence has been installed to make the pool area inaccessible to children. There is a 5 inch gap between where the pool fence meets the backyard fence. Licensee shall ensure there are no gaps in the fence and the pool area is inaccessible to children by the completion of the pool construction. The pool fence has a gate that opens away from the pool with a self closing gate that latches. During pool construction licensee is using the front yard for outdoor play. Licensee understands that children must have one hundred percent supervision while playing in the front yard. Off limits areas will be made inaccessible by use of gates, closed and/or locked doors and visual supervision. There are no firearms on the premises as stated by the licensee. Detergents, cleaning compounds, medications and other items which could pose a danger to children are stored and inaccessible to children. The fireplace is barricaded to prevent access by children. LPA verified that the fire extinguisher 3A40BC is fully charged. The home is equipped with both a smoke detector and carbon monoxide detector. There is a working telephone in the home. The home provides appropriate toys, learning materials and play equipment. |
