25 | On 7/11/2022 at 10:00am Licensing Program Analyst’s (LPA’s) Christina Watts and Morgan Pringle met with Director Kiyana Competente for an Unannounced Complaint Inspection. Present during the inspection were thirty-eight (38) preschool children and seven (7) staff members. LPA’s conducted a health and safety tour of the facility which consists of three (3) classrooms; The Bears, The Butterflies and The Bluebirds.
During LPA’s investigation of the facility there were three (3) teachers in the Bears classrooms and four (4) teachers outside with the Bluebird and Butterfly classroom. During LPA’s record reviews it was found that three (3) staff members, who were at the facility during LPA's inspection and engaged with the children, did not posses a criminal record clearance. It was also found that the same three staff members did not posses Mandated Reporter training certificates and did not have completed files.

Director was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
