Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Cherie Acosta conducted an unannounced Annual Required inspection. LPA met with Site Supervisor Rocio Beltran. There were no children in care today. The facility operates a seasonal program which runs from the end of April to October or November each year. The facility is closed the remainder of the year. This location has a preschool program with a toddler option. The indoor and outdoor space for the toddlers are physically separate from the preschool areas. During the inspection the staff were preparing the center to open 4/25/23. Furniture and equipment was observed to be in good condition, free of sharp, loose, or pointed parts. All storage containers for solid waste have tight-fitting covers that are in good repair. Lunch and snacks will be delivered to the facility daily. Outdoor activity space and playground equipment was observed to be safe and free of hazards. Climbing equipment is properly anchored to the ground with adequate and appropriate cushioning material to absorb falls.

A sample of staff and children’s records were reviewed. LPA verified staff have current CPR/First aid training.

Site Supervisor was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center.
