A Case Management Visit was conducted today, September 13, 2019 by Licensing Program Manager (LPM) Wynn Norona. LPM met with Education Manager, Luz Arrizon. The center is a Title V preschool. The center was recently licensed for an increase of capacity from 101 to 138 preschool children. An application for an increase in capacity from 138 to 145 children was submitted as the center was able to obtain an additional outdoor space. There are 115 napping children (94 Preschoolers and 15 Toddler-Option) with 14 staff present during the inspection. A health and safety inspection was conducted inside and outside. The following is the new and updated overall measurement:

INDOORS: 5554.19 sq. feet = 158 children (no change based on 8/16/19 measurement)
UPDATED OUTDOORS: 5165.81 plus 207 square feet= 71 children

The center has obtained a valid and approved fire clearance from Contra Costa Fire Department on 8/7/19. A waiver for the outdoor space was requested to allow no more than 71 children at a time on the play yard. An exit interview was conducted with Ms. Arrizon. Zero Tolerance policies were explained. LPM provided a copy of the appeal rights and the signature on this form acknowledges receipt of these rights. LPM also reminded Ms. Arrizon that once licensed, the facility must be in compliance with all licensing laws and regulations. If the center is in violation of any laws or regulations, a citation will be issued. Notice of Site Visit form was provided and posted.

Based on the additional outdoor space and fire clearance approval, a license for 142 preschool children which includes the 24 Toddler-Option program is recommended effective today, September 13, 2019.
