25 | On 09/13/22, Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Melissa Guirit and Melissa Domantay arrived at the facility for an announced case management inspection for a change of capacity and adding outdoor play area. LPAs met with Operations Manager, Xochitl Villafana and Education Manager, Luz Arrizon. Present for today's inspection were 105 children and 26 staff. The normal hours of operation are Monday-Friday 7:30am-5:30pm. LPAs conducted a full tour of the facility to conduct a health and safety inspection with managers. All measurements remain the same from previous licensing inspection.
Fire clearance was received for 102 preschoolers and 40 toddlers from the Contra Costa County Fire Protection Department on 08/29/2022.
LPAs observed that the classrooms has sufficient lighting and appears to be clean and in good condition. There are sufficient amount of sinks and toilets for children to utilize. There is a designated staff bathroom. LPAs observed an ample supply of age appropriate activities, equipment, furniture, and are equipped with varied age appropriate materials and equipment. LPAs observed the preschool outdoor play yard areas, they are fully fenced and have ample supply of age appropriate activities, equipment, and furniture. LPAs observed ample amount of shade for children. Per managers, an additional side yard would like to be added to the outdoor area and will remain pending until update paperwork is received from facility.
Side Yard measurments: 456.23 sq ft. = 6 children
The building has a fully charged fire extinguisher and first aid supplies. There is a working telephone at the center. LPAs did not observe any hazardous items that would be accessible to children.
A license for a capacity of 102 preschoolers and 40 toddlers will be made part of the license, effective today 09/13/22, and can be used when the facility is ready. There are no deficiencies being cited today. A Notice of Site inspection was provided to Operations and Education Managers, Xochitl and Luz and an exit interview was conducted. |
