25 | An inspection was conducted today by Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Melissa Domantay and Melissa Guirit. LPAs met with director, Kristina Spink. An application was submitted for a increase of capacity and adding a toddler option to the existing Preschool license. The new toddler classroom is inside Queen of All Saints School in the Kindergarten Wing. The center will operate Monday-Friday from 8am to 5pm and the toddler option will operate Tuesday-Thursday 8am-12pm. A health and safety inspection was conducted inside.
INDOORS: 1583.71 square feet = 45 children
OUTDOORS: 3407.34 square feet = 45 children
The center has obtained an approved fire clearance from Contra Costa County Fire Protection on 11/4/21. The fire clearance is approved with a capacity of 45 children for the entire center, for 23 preschoolers, ages 2 years to first grade entry with a toddler option for 22 toddlers, ages 18 months to 36 months.
The preschool and new toddler rooms are equipped with varied age appropriate materials and equipment. There are 2 toilets, 5 urinals, and 5 sinks available. The office will be designated as the isolation area for sick children. The staff has a separate bathroom which will also be used as the isolation area for sick children. Napping equipment are stored properly.There is a working telephone on site. There is a carbon monoxide detector, smoke detector and fully charged 2A10BC fire extinguisher available in the center.
The play yard is fenced in all around. Play structures are sufficiently cushioned. Trees provide sufficient shade in the play yard. Director is reminded that preschool children and toddlers should not commingle during outdoor play time. Director is also reminded that the see saw and climbing dome should be off limits to toddler option children because of age range is minimum 2 years old and should have 100 percent toddler supervision at all times. Water is available both indoors and outdoors and children will bring personal water bottles to utilize. Parents will provide snacks and lunches for their children. |
