25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Paul Petersen conducted an announced case management site inspection for an increase of capacity for this facility at 10:50AM. LPA met with licensee, Mirna Bymaster, who was present along with assistant, Leila Melara, and four children in care consisting of two school age children and two preschoolers. The facility is within capacity and all adults present are background cleared and associated to this facility. Children in care are being supervised.
The facility was toured for a health and safety inspection. The on limits areas are the living/dining room areas and the hall bathroom. Off limits areas are made inaccessible by child safety gating or closed doors and visual supervision. There are no hazardous items/toxins observed to be accessible to children today. The fireplace is screened to prevent access. The facility has a working carbon monoxide detector, working smoke detector, and a fully charged 2A10BC fire extinguisher. Per licensee there are no firearms present or stored on the premises.
The back patio area is fully fenced and on limits to children in care with adult supervision present at all times that children are present in the area. The hillside area of the outdoors and the separate outdoor area which includes the trampoline and swings are off limits to children in care. There are small/toddler size outdoor play equipment present in the patio area which are free of sharp pieces/hazardous conditions. There are no swings or pieces of high climbing equipment present in the on-limits area. There are no pools, hot tubs or other bodies of water accessible to children.
There is a fire inspection clearance from Contra Costa County Fire Dept.dated 5/12/21 on file for this facility. The facility is approved for an increase of capacity to a Large Family Child Care Home. Capacity and children/staff ratios were reviewed with licensee and a ratio guide sheet was provided. A notice of site visit was printed and is to remain posted for 30 days. A copy of this report is to remain in the facility records for a period of three years. |
