25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Cherie Acosta conducted a virtual case management/increase in capacity inspection by use of FaceTime. An in person inspection was not conducted due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The home was virtually toured with licensee to conduct a health and safety inspection. Licensee resides in the home with her three minor children. Present during the inspection was the licensee, licensee's fingerprint cleared assistant, licensee's three children of which two are over 10 years of age, two preschool aged children and four school aged children. Licensee states the hours of operation for day care will be Monday through Friday, 6:00am to 6:00pm.
Community Care Licensing (CCL) has received an approved fire clearance dated 1/14/21. Fire inspection indicates the second floor and garage are off limits to children.
This is a two story home. The first floor consist of a living room, dining room, family room, kitchen, one bedroom, one bathroom, laundry room and garage. The second floor consist of three bedrooms and two bathrooms. The entire first floor in on limits expect the laundry room and garage. Areas that are off limits to children are the entire second floor, laundry room and garage. Off limit areas will be made inaccessible by use of gates, closed and/or locked doors and visual supervision. The on limits bedroom located on the first floor will be used as the isolation area. The fenced backyard will be used as the outdoor play area. This home has a pool that is properly fenced with a self closing gate that opens away from the pool. There are age appropriate toys in the home. There are no firearms in the home as stated by the licensee. LPA did not observe any hazardous materials or toxins accessible to children today.
The home has a fully charged 2A10BC fire extinguisher. The home is equipped with working smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detector. There is a working telephone in the home. The applicant’s CPR and First Aid certificate is current and expires 3/14/23. Licensee completed mandated reporter training 2/25/21. Licensee completed lead poisoning training 2/3/21. Licensee is in compliance with immunization requirements. The home has a gas fireplace which is located in the family room. Licensee stated that the fireplace not used. LPA reviewed a sample of children and licensee's assistant files. Safe sleep information was discussed with the licensee. Safety precaution in regards to COVID-19 were discussed and posters were emailed to licensee. |
