25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Dealia Frison and Cherie Acosta conducted an unannounced Annual Required inspection. Present during today’s inspection was the licensee, her fingerprint cleared adult daughter, and assistant, 1 preschool aged foster child, 3 infants and 3 preschool age child in care. Licensee's preschool age grandchild was also present.
The home was toured for Health and Safety Inspection. Since the last inspection, licensee added an addition bedroom to the home. The additional bedroom is identified as bedroom #5 on the facility sketch and is off limits. Licensee was reminded that she must inform Community Care Licensing prior to making changes to the home. The entire first floor is on limits except the garage and bedroom #5. The entire second floor is off limits to children. Off limits areas will be made inaccessible by use of gates, closed and/or locked doors and visual supervision. The home was observed to be orderly, with heating and ventilation for safety and comfort. The home has a pool. The pool is fenced with a self closing gate that opens away from the pool. There are no firearms on the premises as stated by the licensee. Detergents, cleaning compounds, medications and other items which could pose a danger to children are stored and inaccessible to children. Stairs are gated. LPA verified that the fire extinguisher 2A10BC is fully charged. The home has a gas fireplace. Fire place is not used during child care hours as stated by licensee. The home is equipped with both a smoke detector and carbon monoxide detector. There is a working telephone in the home. The home provides appropriate toys, learning materials and play equipment. Outdoor play area is fenced. The licensee is operating within the licensed capacity. LPA did not observe any child left without supervision during the inspection. Licensee is aware that her teenage assistant can not be left alone with children in care.
Children files were reviewed. The licensee has current CPR and First Aid which expires 2/26/25. Mandated reporter training was completed 2/23/23. Licensee is in compliance with required immunizations for child care providers. Fire and disaster drills are conducted at least once every six months. |
