25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Paul Petersen conducted an announced change of location, pre-licensing site inspection for this facility on 06/25/19 at 1455. LPA met with licensee, Marilu Garcia, and licensee's husband, Victor Garcia, and toured all areas of the home for a health and safety inspection for this two story home. The on limits areas for children in care are the living room, the day care room, and the hall bathroom on the main level. The off limits areas are the entire lower level of the home, the kitchen, the dining area and the family room. Off limits areas are made inaccessible by child safety gating including gating at the top of the stairs. The fireplace is screened for safety. Per licensee there are no firearms present or stored on the premises. The facility has working carbon monoxide detectors, working smoke detectors and multiple fully charged fire extinguishers. There is heating and air conditioning available for temperature management. The converted garage is available for children in care for non-primary child care use up to two hours per day. The garage area will not be used for children napping or eating. There are no hazardous items/toxins accessible to children in care. All required postings are present. The home does not have an attached yard or outside play area so the local community park, La Moine Park, will be used for outside play. The front patio area is not fully fenced and may be used for children's play with direct adult supervision present at all times that children are using the area. Licensee has current CPR/First Aid certification which expires in 2021. LPA provided licensee with a copy of the Infant Safe Sleep guidelines and discussed infant safe sleep requirements. Licensee's husband and LPA reviewed the current Facility Personnel Report Summary and verified that all adults requiring background clearances are cleared and associated to this facility.
This facility is pending a fire department inspection for licensing as a large family child care home. There were no items found to be in need of correction during this pre-licensing inspection. The facility is approved for licensure at this time as a small family child care home with a maximum capacity of eight children in care. |
