25 | On 8/10/20 at 9am, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Loretta Dyson conducted a prelicensing tele-inspection thru the Zoom application. A tele-inspection was done due to the COVID-19 pandemic. LPA met with Li Hong, owner, and Marine Chapa (Brines), director. The facility submitted an application for a change of ownership of this preschool center. The facility is on the grounds of Creekside Community Church, and will operate Monday - Friday 8:30am-1pm in 3 rooms. The owner verified that there have been no changes to the layout of the center, which would cause a change to the measurements previously completed. The measurements from an inspection completed for the previous facility on 7/12/16 will be used:
INDOOR: 893.29 square feet= 26 children
OUTDOOR: 2,555.97 square feet= 34 children
A fire clearance, with an approved capacity of 26 children including 18 preschoolers and 8 toddlers, was received from San Ramon Valley Fire. The inspector noted that there cannot be more than 4 infants, ages 18-24 months, in room 109 (labeled as Toddler Classroom by facility).
A health and safety inspection was conducted with LPA directing the owner to focus the camera on items in each space to be used by children including the 3 rooms, children's bathrooms, and the playground. LPA observed that the rooms have sufficient lighting and the floors and surfaces appeared to be in good condition and clean. LPA reviewed the facility's procedures during drop off and pick up of children, sign in and out procedure and daily health check process. LPA observed an ample supply of age appropriate toys, equipment and furniture, which appeared to be in good condition. There is an ample supply of storage for children's belongings. LPA observed mats for children to sleep on and LPA observed that they are stored appropriately. The facility has 2 toilets and 2 sinks available, and there is a separate bathroom for staff. LPA reminded the owner and director that staff need to supervise children in the bathroom. The owner advised that families will provide snacks, and the center has extra snacks in case of emergency. The playground is fenced, has trees around to provide shade, and tan bark to provide cushioning. |
