25 | On June 24, 2021 at 1:05pm, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Julia Placencia arrived unannounced for a case management inspection, and met with licensee Esmeralda Kranz. Present were ten children (four infants and six preschoolers), and fingerprint cleared helper Agustina Aldana.
Licensee has a provisional license which expires on 8/31/2021. Today’s inspection was to ensure the swimming pool area is inaccessible to children in care. LPA observed the gate surrounding the pool is at least 5 feet high, does not obscure the pool from view, and has a self-latching gate that swings away from the pool.
As of today’s date, 6/24/2021, this home is recommended for regular licensure.
The following deficiencies were observed during today's inspection:
- Upon arrival, licensee was observed to be operating beyond the limits of her license with a capacity of 10 children.
- Upon arrival, LPA observed the OFF-LIMIT living room is being used for daycare.
See LIC809D for deficiencies cited during today's inspection. Failure to correct will result in a $100 per day civil penalty until corrected. Repeat violations are $250 per violation and $100 per day until corrected.
The attached type A violation is cited today and must be corrected by the due date. Upon receipt, licensee shall post and provide copies of this licensing report to parents/guardians of children in care at the facility and to parents/guardians of children newly enrolled at the facility during the next 12 months. All parents/guardians must sign an acknowledgement form of proof of receiving this report (LIC 9224). The LIC 9224 must be placed in the child's file to be reviewed by licensing.
Exit interview conducted with Esmeralda Kranz. Copy of report and appeal rights provided. Notice of site visit provided and must be posted for 30 days. |
