25 | Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Arianna Manabat and Kelly Ferrara met with licensee Kristin Rittiman, for an unannounced random annual inspection and toured areas of the home accessible to children in care. The purpose of the inspection was explained. Licensee lives in a two story home. Present, the census included only Kristin Rittiman and no children currently present. Licensee stated there are no new residents in the home since licensure. All adults living, or working in the home, have criminal background check on file. Licensee provides day care on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday between 8:15 AM to 2:30 PM and is closed on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
LPAs inspected the day care areas with the licensee. Day Care Areas: Dining room, Downstairs Bathroom, Den, and the south-side yard adjacent to the den. Off limit areas include: Office, Kitchen, Living Room, Back yard adjacent to the living room, Garage, and the second floor. During the inspection, the licensee decided to make the Living Room and Kitchen off-limits. The on-limits south-side yard area is fenced and gated, and LPAs did not observe any bodies of water on the premises.
Licensee stated there were no weapons in the home. All the cleaning supplies, poisons, hazardous items, and other chemicals are stored and inaccessible to the children. Stairs has child protective gate installed. LPAs observed a screened fireplace. All off-limit rooms are inaccessible for the children. The house is in good repair and free of hazards with proper temperature and ventilation. There is carbon monoxide detector, smoke detector, fully charged fire extinguisher, and working telephone available in the house. There is a variety of age appropriate toys in the house.
LPAs reviewed the facility records and observed that the licensee has all required documents posted in the childcare areas as well as their License. Licensee has record of training of preventive health and CPR card valid until July 2022. LPAs discussed recent changes in licensing requirements, including the posting of licensing inspection notices and reports and Parent Notification Requirements. LPA observed fire drills were conducted at least once every six months and documented.
