25 | On May 15th, 2023, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Soleil Marx met with Director, Angela Masterson, for an unannounced required annual inspection. LPA observed a census of 12 preschool age children being supervised by two staff. Facility Representative was reminded never to exceed the conditions, limitations and capacity specified on the license. Hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 03:00 PM.
LPA inspected all activity and classroom spaces, restrooms, and outdoor play areas. Hazardous items are inaccessible to children. The floors appeared clean throughout the facility. Furniture and equipment are in safe, operable condition. LPA observed a variety of age-appropriate toys available to children within the facility. Playground equipment is in good repair and free of loose or sharp parts. LPA observed adequate cushioning in areas underneath climbing equipment and adequate shade provided. Toileting facilities are in safe, sanitary, and operating condition. At this facility the children bring all food from home. Uncontaminated drinking water is readily available to children both indoors and outdoors via water bottles. Storage containers with solid waste have tight-fitting covers. LPA observed a functional carbon monoxide detector within the facility. LPA observed full legal signatures on the sign in and out sheet. LPA observed required postings, children’s roster, and a fire/disaster drill log in which the last drill was conducted on 04/20/23.
LPA reviewed records for all present staff. At least one staff member present today has current Pediatric CPR and First Aid certification expiring 08/2024. Staff currently employed with the facility have: a criminal record clearance, a health screening report, immunization records, current Mandated Reporter Training, and documentation of their educational background, training, and/or experience. A sample of children’s records were reviewed, LPA observed that most child's files contained all the required documents. (1/2) |
