13 | On January 9th, 2023 at approxiamtely 9:00am, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Arianna Manabat met with Director Lisa Hester to deliver complaint findings for the allegation mentioned above. LPA observed 32 preschool children in care being supervised by five staff members, and the Director.
It was alleged that a staff member had pushed day care children. Through observations, record review, and interviews with the staff, Director, and children, LPA Manabat found that staff members are according children their personal rights when present in the facility. LPA observed that staff members will use their words when directing children during transistions. During interviews with staff members and children, it was mentioned that children, who do not want to participate in activities, will be allowed alternative play options. LPA Manabat found through observation and interview that children, who are not following rules or inflicting harm to other children, are being guided to a different play area via a hand to the back and/ or the shoulder blade area. LPA did not observe pushing or any form of physcial guidance that would pose a harm to children in care. Continued on 9099-C..... |
