13 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Soleil Marx met with Director, Jennifer Tommasini, for the purpose of conducting a complaint investigation for the above allegation.Throughout the course of the investigation, LPA made observations, conducted interviews, and reviewed records. Through interviews conducted, it was revealed that there was an incident in which a mouse was seen in the kitchen, however record review of maintenance services verifies that it was immediately remediated by pest management and there have been routine pest services in place since the incident. LPA observed traps set in the kitchen as a preventative measure, kitchen sanitary and in good repair, food stored appropriately, covered waste bins, an ample amount of cleaning supplies, and daily cleaning routines in place for kitchen staff. LPA did not observe indications that there is a current issue regarding rodents in the kitchen. According to Title 22 regulations 101238(a)(1) the center shall take measures to keep the center free of flies, other insects and rodents. Although the allegation may have happened or is valid, there is not a preponderance of evidence to provethe alleged violation occurred, therefore the allegation is unsubstantiated. Exit interview conducted, report reviewed, appeal rights provided. Notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days. |
