25 | On 05/24/2023 Licensing Program Analyst Denisia Jimenez, conducted an unannounced Annual Required Inspection for Kids Kare Willow Preschool. LPA met with Director, Katy Regalado, and toured the facility indoors and outdoors. LPA took a census and observed sixty-four (64) total daycare children with seven (7) staff supervising in smaller groups. This is a combination center which provides care for children between ages 2-6 and school age children. Director confirmed phone number of the facility is 559-291-9111. Hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 6:15AM to 6:00PM. LPA observed required CCL forms are posted on parent's board.
LPA observed there is in-ground swimming pool that is fenced per regulation and made inaccessible to children. The swimming pool gate is self-latching, self-closing, and opened away from the swimming pool. Per the Director the swimming pool is currently not in use for preschool children. Per the Director there are no firearms or ammunition allowed or stored on the premises. LPA observed disinfectants, cleaning solutions, medication and other hazardous items are made inaccessible. No poisons were observed during the inspection.
Furniture, playground equipment, and equipment are in good condition, free of sharp, loose, or pointed parts. The surface of the outdoor activity space is maintained and is free of hazards. All toilets and handwashing facilities are in safe and sanitary operating condition. Floors in the facility are clean and safe. All kitchen, food preparation and storage areas are clean, free of litter/rubbish and free of rodents/vermin. All food is protected against contamination and any contaminated food is discarded immediately. Solid waste storage containers have tight-fitting covers and are in good repair. LPA observed the trash cans in the classroom do not have covers. Children do not throw their food in the trash cans in the classrooms. Drinking water is available both indoors and outdoors. LPA observed areas around high climbing equipment, swings and slides have cushioning material to absorb falls. The facility is free of flies, insects, and rodents. Facility has one or more functioning carbon monoxide detectors that meet statutory requirements.
Assembly Bill 2370, Chapter 676, Statutes of 2018 requires all Child Care Centers (CCCs) that are in buildings constructed before January 1, 2010 to test their drinking water for lead contamination by January 1, 2023 and every 5 years thereafter. This facility has provided evidence of completed water lead testing. Water lead sampling results load date is 02/11/23 with no action level exceedance noted.
