25 | On 10/5/22, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Joseph Pacheco and Licensing Program Manager (LPM) Juvenal Moctezuma conducted an unannounced Case Management inspection and met with Director, Foua Yang. LPA and LPM explained the reason of the inspection and a tour of the center was conducted both inside and outside. Licensee is requesting to decrease its licensed capacity from 35 to 25 Infants, ages 0-2 years old, which can include up to 6 crib infants. This program will operate year round from 6:30 AM to 6:00 PM Monday Through Friday.
Director stated that the center provides breakfast, lunch, and AM and PM snack which is prepared on site and delivered to each classroom. The kitchen is across the hallway from all three classrooms. The kitchen is separated from the hallway by a sliding door and does not have the ability to be locked. The knives & Sharp utensils are stored in a lower kitchen drawer and the cleaning items are all stored in the laundry/storage room which is also remained closed and locked. There is hot running water in the kitchen. Facility has a laundry room located next to the kitchen which is across the hallway from the three classrooms. The laundry room is locked from the inside so its inaccessible to children. The staff use the staff bathroom located at the entrance of the center adjacent to the Director’s office. Ill children are isolated in the director's office and will use the staff bathroom. The three classrooms were observed to be clean and free of toxins. Licensee states they have enough tables and chairs to meet their requested capacity. LPA and LPM observed that the furniture and equipment appeared to be safe and in good condition. There are plenty of age appropriate items, tables, chairs, cots, & cubbies to meet the requested capacity.
Licensee completed renovations to the facility in May of 2022. Licensee divided one open room into three separate classrooms and a separate hallway. Room measurements were taken and reviewed with Director. The total inside used Infant area measured to an approximate 900 square feet which will accommodate the newly requested capacity of 25 infants.
