25 | On 7/15/2019 at 8:30 AM, an unannounced/random inspection was conducted by Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs), Stephanie Navarro and Angelica Slaughter. LPAs met with Assistant Director, Jessica Higgins. LPAs toured the facility, both indoors and outdoors. There are no firearms present at this school. All children are under supervision, including visual supervision, of a teacher at all times. Teacher/child ratios are maintained, and adequate supervision is being provided during this visit. The facility ensures that each infant is never left unattended, and under the direct visual supervision of a staff person at all times. Disinfectants, cleaning solutions and other dangerous items are inaccessible to children. No poisons were observed during today’s inspection. All materials and surfaces accessible to children are toxic free. Infant changing tables are placed within arm's reach of a sink. All floors are clean and safe. The facility has age-appropriate furniture and equipment including, but not limited to, cribs, cots, or mats. The facility has sufficient infant napping equipment available. The facility has indoor activity space for infants that is physically separate from preschool program. LPAs observed in the classrooms solid waste storage vessels, including moveable bins, have tight-fitting covers on, are in good repair. Drinking water is available both indoors and outdoors. LPAs observed bottles, dishes, and containers of food brought by the infant's authorized representative are labeled with the infant's name, but not labeled with current date. All kitchen, food prep, and storage areas are clean, free of litter, rubbish, and rodents/vermin. All foods/beverages capable of rapid spoiling are stored in covered containers at 45 (F) or less. Menus are posted at least one week in advance, where an authorized representative can view them. There is a working fire extinguisher, carbon monoxide, smoke detector, and adequate heating and ventilation for safety and comfort. Fire drills are conducted and documented every six months. LPAs observed playground equipment is in good condition, free of sharp, loose, or pointed parts. LPAs observed broken wooden panels in the chain link fencing in the infant playground area. LPAs reviewed children files that contained required documents and immunization records.
