25 | On 02/21/20, an unannounced Annual/Random inspection was conducted by Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Angelica Slaughter. LPA met with Preschool Director Leslie Helm and toured the facility. Facility is located on the campus of Kerman Floyd Elementary School. Preschool classrooms 30, 32, 33, and 37 offer morning sessions from 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM; and afternoon sessions from 11:45 AM to 2:45 PM. Half-day session classrooms operate during the traditional school calendar. Preschool classroom 38 offers a full day session from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM and operates on a traditional school year calendar schedule. There are no bodies of water on site. Firearms/weapons are not allowed or stored on premises. All children are under supervision, including visual supervision, of a teacher at all times. There is a ratio of one teacher supervising no more than 12 children in attendance. Disinfectants, cleaning solutions and other dangerous items shall be inaccessible to children. Storage areas for poisons are locked. No poisons were observed during today’s visit. All materials and surfaces accessible to children are toxic free. Medications are in a safe place inaccessible to children. All toilets and hand washing facilities are in safe and sanitary operating conditions. All floors are clean and safe. Furniture and equipment are in good condition, free of sharp, loose, or pointed parts. Breakfast and lunch is prepped and served in the school cafeteria and children are escorted by staff to the cafeteria. PM snack is delivered to the full day session classroom. Solid waste storage vessels, including moveable bins, have tight-fitting covers on, are in good repair. Uncontaminated drinking water is available both indoors and outdoors. Menus are posted at least one week in advance, where an authorized representative can view them. Playground equipment is in good condition, free of sharp, loose, or pointed parts. Outdoor activity space surface is maintained in a safe condition and is free of hazards. Areas around high climbing equipment, swings, and slides have wood chip cushioning material to absorb falls. CCLD shall notify a licensee to immediately terminate the employment of, or to remove/bar any person with specified convictions or for other reasons. The licensee shall comply with the notice. Before working or volunteering in a licensed child care facility, all individuals subject to a criminal record review have a clearance or exemption and have been associated to the facility. The licensee is Kerman Unified School District and staff have a fingerprint clearance as a condition of employment. Staff records contain appropriate, documentation of education credits. At least one person trained in CPR and Pediatric first-aid is present when children are at the facility or at off-site activities. The person, who signs the child in/out, is responsible for the child, uses their full legal signature and records the time of day. Child's admission agreement is available for review. |
