25 | On 06/09/2022 Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Araceli Gibson and Jeovanna Yanez conducted an unannounced case management inspection. LPAs met with Director Irma Villa. Purpose of today's inspection is to conduct a case management inspection, and to notify the Director there has been a lead exceedance referred to as a Action Level Exceedance (ALE) of over 5 parts per billion (ppb) in the water at the facility.
Fresno Regional Office received notification of water lead exceedance at the facility resulting from a recent water lead sampling test conducted on 04/20/22. Director provided LPA's a tour and demonstrated drinking fountain A, B and kitchen sink C were tested. LPA advised Director it was reported that fountains A and B had a high level exceedance of lead. Director stated they have a contract with Sparklet's water and it has been in place for years. Director plans to capped off outlets to water fountains. Sparklet's bottled water is being provided for consumption and for preparing food for daycare children. 101238(a) Buildings and Grounds citation was issued with a plan of correction in place to ensure the safety and well being of children, employees and visitors. Director plans to remove the fountains and submit a waiver to stay in compliance. Director agrees to update the plan of operation with changes to the facility. (See plan of correction for further corrective action 809D). Director to notify all authorized representatives of this corrective action. This deficiency was cited on Preschool Licensee 100407063.
Per Title 22, Division 12, Chapter 1, of the California Code of Regulations, A type B deficiency is being cited: (see next page, 809 D). Director was provided a copy of appeal rights. An exit interview was conducted with the Director.
This report shall be made available to the public upon request. LIC 9213 Notice of Site Visit is provided and required to be posted for 30 days.
