On 04/20/2023 Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Denisia Jimenez and Araceli Gibson, conducted an unannounced Annual Required Inspection for the school age license. LPA smet with Director, Trenity Jones and toured the facility indoors and outdoors. Days and hours of operation are Monday thru Friday 7:00 am to 6:00 pm.

There are no bodies of water. Firearms and other weapons are not allowed or stored on the premises of a childcare center. The facility is clean, safe, sanitary and in good repair at all times to ensure the safety and well-being of children, employees, and visitors. In combination programs, outdoor activity space provided for school-age children is physically separate from space provided for infant care and childcare center children.

Disinfectants, cleaning solutions, poisons and other items that are dangerous to children, are inaccessible to children. No poisons were observed during this inspection. All toilets, hand washing, and bathing facilities are in safe and sanitary operating condition. All floors are clean and safe. All kitchen, food preparations and storage areas are kept clean, free of litter, rubbish, and free of rodents and other vermin. All storage containers for solid waste, including moveable bins, have tight-fitting covers that are kept on, and in good repair. Uncontaminated drinking water is readily available both indoors and out. Outdoor activity space surfaces are free of hazards. The areas around or under high climbing equipment and slides and similar equipment are cushioned with material that absorbs a fall. The facility maintains compliance with staff-child ratios. Facility maintains a ratio of one teacher supervising no more than 14 children in care. Menus are posted. Facility has one or more functioning carbon monoxide detectors that meet statutory requirements.
There is a separate, complete, and current record maintained for each child enrolled in the childcare center. Each child's record contains a medical assessment.
The licensee shall not exceed the approved capacity of the fire clearance for the facility. No child(ren) shall be left without the supervision, including visual supervision, of a teacher at any time.

Assembly Bill 2370, Chapter 676, Statutes of 2018 requires all Child Care Centers (CCCs) that are in buildings constructed before January 1, 2010 to test their drinking water for lead contamination by January 1, 2023 and every 5 years thereafter. This facility has provided evidence of completed water lead testing with no action level exceedance noted.

Facility representative was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.

Capacity and limitations as specified on the license are being maintained. At least one person trained in CPR and Pediatric First Aid is present when children are at the facility or at offsite activities. The name of the child care center director or fully-qualified teacher(s) designated to act in the director’s absence has been reported to the Department. The person who signs the child in/out of the facility shall use their full legal signature and record the time of day. All children are under supervision, including visual supervision, of a teacher at all times. LPA reviewed a sample of children’s files and observed files were complete with contact information for authorized representative and or relatives or others who can assume responsibility for the child and medical assessment. LPA reviewed a sample of staff files and observed files were complete with health screening, immunization records for influenza, pertussis and measles and current documentation of completed mandated reporter training. Menus are posted at least one week in advance where an authorized representative can view them.

This facility provides Incidental Medical Services – IMS. LPA reviewed storage of medication and equipment/supplies, and reviewed children’s files. LPAs and Licensee discussed the Community Care Licensing website www.ccld.ca.gov which will provide access to Provider Information Notices (PINS), Quarterly Updates, Mandated Reporter Training, Safe Sleep in Child Care, Lead Poisoning Facts, Forms and Regulations.

Per Chapter 1, Division 12, Title 22 of the California Code of Regulations, no deficiencies are observed today. Site Visit Notice posted on the parent board. Exit interview was conducted with Trenity Jones.
