On 8/11/2021, an Informal Office meeting was conducted in person. In attendance at this meeting were Owner/Director of Dermers’ Creative Care Too, Sandra Dermer, Licensing Program Analyst Cynthia Brannon, and Licensing Program Managers, Michael Duarte and Susie Fanning. The purpose of this meeting was to discuss recent violations of Title 22 Regulations.

The following citations were discussed:

06/02/21 annual inspection resulted in a type B citation for mislabeled infant bottles, and a type A citation for operating over capacity. A civil penalty was also assessed for $250 for the over capacity citation.

• Type A citation were cited for operating over licensed capacity of 22. Licensee was providing care and supervision to 26 infants.

• Licensee was cited type B citations for failing to update the needs and services plans for infants in care, and mislabeled infant bottles.

The following complaint findings from 4/15/21 and 5/15/21 were substantiated:

· Type A citations were cited and a civil penalty for $100 was assessed for the background clearance and for facility operating over capacity.

· Also substantiated was an allegation that facility is operating out of ratio, which resulted in a type B citation.

Licensee stated she has made adjustments for accepting drop-ins to ensure the facility does not go over capacity.

• Safe sleep regulations were discussed with licensee.

Licensee is aware that facility is to remain in compliance with California Health & Safety Codes and California Title 22 Regulations pertaining to licensed child care centers.

It was discussed that continued violation(s) of California Health and Safety Codes and California Code of Regulations may result in a Non-Compliance meeting and may be referred to the Department’s Legal Division for possible Administrative Action.
