Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Juvenal Moctezuma conducted an unannounced Annual/Random Inspection and met with Center Director, Susan McDonald. The purpose of the inspection was discussed with Susan and a tour of the center was conducted both inside and outside. LPA took census and observed that the children were playing inside each classroom under the supervision of adequate teacher, child ratios.

Center operates year round from 07:00 AM to 06:00 PM Monday through Friday. Disinfectants, cleaning solutions and all hazardous items are stored in a janitorial closet which is remained closed and locked during day-care hours. Some cleaning solutions are stored in high cabinets in each classroom .

Susan McDonald stated that the center provides Incidental Medical Services (IMS). An IMS Plan is in place. The medication is stored in each classroom if necessary in a high cabinet making it inaccessible to children in care. Furniture and equipment appear to be safe and in good condition. LPA reminded Susan to get rid of any toys or equipment that are broken or malfunctioning. Floors appeared to be clean and safe, and solid waste storage vessels, including moveable bins, have tight fitting covers on, and are in good repair. The bathrooms were observed to be clean and are kept free of toxins and in sanitary operating condition. The center provides breakfast, lunch, and AM/PM Snack. Susan stated that food is prepared off site and gets brought over to the center daily. A staff then preps the food and delivers it to the children in each classroom. Drinking water is available both indoors and out. The menus and schedules are posted inside the classroom. Susan stated that napping equipment is washed at least once a week (Tuesday) or whenever its necessary.

A sampling of Staff records reviewed showed that everything was complete and up to date. LPA also advised Susan to make sure teachers are always having visual observation of the children when playing outside or inside the classroom. CPR is current and up to date with staff present. LPA advised Susan to have her staff retake the Mandated Reporter training AB 1207 since it was observed through file review that most of their staff Ab 1207 certificates are expiring in February 2020. Susan understood.
