An unannounced Case Management inspection was made at this School Age center by LPA Patricia Musso today.

This case management inspection was conducted to cite a deficiency. Information was received and it was found to be true that there was a staff member supervising school age children without the proper required teacher qualifications.

Per Title 22 Regulations, the deficiency cited today is noted on the following LIC809D.

During exit interview LPA viewed the provided LIC9213 being posted and left instructions to post for 30 days

(a) In addition to Section 101216.1, the following shall apply:
(b) As an alternative educational prerequisite, a school-age child care teacher may, pursuant to Health and Safety Code Section 1597.21, substitute 20 training hours for each of the required units of education in Section 101216.1. Units and training hours may be combined to meet the total educational requirement (12 units or 240 training hours, or any combination thereof).

The director said that she will make sure that a qualified teacher is in place at all times in each classroom.

This requirement was not met as evidenced by LPA finding out from staff member #1 said that she only has 3 units completed in Child Dev.. This poses a potential risk to the health, safety, or personal rights of children in care.
