25 | An unannounced/random inspection was conducted today by Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Stephanie Navarro. This facility is housed on the Central Unified District campus in room 10 and consist of one classroom. LPA met with Preschool Supervisor, Wendy Hernandez. Also present were Teacher, Rebecca Wilson, and Teacher Aides, Mai Xiong and Betty Zapata. LPA toured the facility, both indoors and outdoors. There are no firearms present at this school. All children are under supervision, including visual supervision, of a teacher at all times. Teacher/child ratios are maintained and adequate supervision is being provided during this visit. Disinfectants, cleaning solutions and other dangerous items shall be inaccessible to children. No poisons were observed during today’s inspection. All materials and surfaces accessible to children are toxic free. All toilets, hand washing, and bathing facilities are in safe and sanitary operating conditions. All floors are clean and safe. Furniture and equipment are in good condition, free of sharp, loose, or pointed parts. LPA observed in the classroom solid waste storage vessel, including moveable bin, have tight-fitting cover on, and are in good repair. Drinking water is available both indoors and outdoors. Menus are posted at least one week in advance, where an authorized representative can view them. There is a working fire extinguisher, carbon monoxide, smoke detector, and adequate heating and ventilation for safety and comfort. Fire drills are conducted and documented every six months. Playground equipment is required to be in good condition, free of sharp, loose, or pointed parts. Areas around high climbing equipment and slides have cushioning material to absorb falls. LPA reminded facility staff the importance of draining water from outdoor water table after each use.
Before working in a licensed child care facility, all individuals subject to a criminal record review have a clearance or exemption and is a condition of employment with Central Unified School District. Staff records contain appropriate, documentation of education credits.
