Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Brannon met with director, Ermelinda Perez. During today's inspection, inside and outside measurements were taken with director.

There is one school age classroom. The restrooms, multi-purpose room and the preschool play yard is shared between the preschool and school age programs. License has requested waivers. Licensee has requested the capacity of 21 school age children.

There are two restrooms shared with the preschool children. The bathrooms are gender specific. The school age children use the restrooms one at a time and are able to close the restroom door. Staff verify that there is not a preschool child in the restroom before the school age child use the restroom.
The indoor square footage is 1319, which includes the one school age classroom and the shared multi-purpose room. The outdoor square footage for the shared preschool yard is 3065, and the outside school age play yard is large enough that measurements were not taken during today's visit. The inside and outside square footage will accommodate the requested capacity of 21 school age children.

A fire clearance was granted for 60 children; 39 preschool and 21 school age children.

Food is prepared on site. Licensee provides breakfast, lunch and afternoon snack. Hours of operation is 6 am to 6:30 pm, Monday through Friday.

The following items are to be corrected by 11/15/19. LPA Brannon will conduct a return visit to verify corrections were made by licensee.

School Age Classroom
1) Chipping paint on the interior walls
2) Window sills are dirty/dusty
3) Door floor strip has a hole.
4) Baseboards need to be replaced in an area.
5) Blinds need to be replaced.
School outside play yard
6) Cement ramp leading from preschool yard to school yard is ragged.
7) Black top area has deep cracks and are a tripping hazard.
8) There are broken black top pieces in the play yard that needs to be removed.
9) Fencing on the black top area is missing a pole and fencing needs to be repaired correctly or replaced.
10) Gate leading to empty pool needs to be replaced/repaired correctly. Staff was unable to unlock the gate. Upon return visit, LPA will open the gate to ensure gate is self-latching. Locking gate does not meet Title 22 requirements.
11) Blacktop is missing a large piece. This is a tripping hazard.
12) Tree roots need to be covered.
13) Holes in large school yard needs to be filled.
14) Basketball hoop backstop is broken.
15) Chain link fencing is not anchored to the bottom wire.
16) Trees need to be trimmed.
17) Bushes along fencing needs to be trimmed.
18) Replace the broken bottom of fencing wire that is next to the apartments.
19) Fencing, along Sierra Madre, does not have the bottom anchor wire attached to the chain link fencing.
20) Fencing along Sierra Madre needs to be repaired correctly or replaced.
21) Wooden box on the play yard needs to be addressed by licensee.
22) There are two small piles of dirt next to the wooden box. These are to be removed.
23) There is plywood, a green plastic cover, a scrub brush and three wooden fence pickets in between the bungalows. This area is accessible to children.

Upon a return visit will be conducted by LPA to ensure these items are corrected.
