25 | On 07/27/2022, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Luisa Gavoutian conducted an unannounced case management inspection. LPA met with Office Manager Ka Her, toured the facility inside and outside and took a census. The purpose of today's inspection was to inspect a new shade structure that was installed in the outdoor play area over the existing play structure.
The outdoor play area is used by the preschool children. LPA observed that the new shade structure provides adequate shade for children during outdoor activities. The shade structure has four metal poles that are not cushioned to help prevent children from sustaining serious injuries when running into the poles. LPA is recommending that the poles be cushioned.
LPA observed adequate cushioning in the form of wood chips underneath the play structure and landing of the slides to absorb falls. LPA is recommending that licensee regularly rakes the wood chips into the fall zones. Outdoor activity space surface is maintained in a safe condition and is free of hazards. Playground equipment is in good condition, free of sharp, loose, or pointed parts.
The outdoor play area has been licensed for use effective today, 07/27/2022, for the preschool children.
Per Title 22, Division 12, Chapter 1, of the California Code of Regulations, no deficiencies are cited.
Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with Office Manager Ka Her.
