25 | On 9/26/2023, Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Julie Baptista and Aurelio Mendoza conducted an unannounced Annual Required inspection at facility. LPA met with Director Earline Graves and explained purpose of inspection, toured the facility, and took a census. Operating hours are Monday through Friday, 5:45 AM to 6:00 PM. Facility has one school age classroom and has a waiver to share the playground with preschool age children at different times of the day.
There is a covered fish tank in the school-age classroom. There are no other bodies of water. Firearms and other weapons are not allowed or stored on the premises of a childcare center. The childcare center is clean, safe, sanitary and in good repair at all times to ensure the safety and well-being of children, employees, and visitors.
Disinfectants, cleaning solutions, poisons and other items that are dangerous to children are inaccessible. Storage areas for poisons are locked. No poisons were observed. Furniture and equipment are in good condition, free of sharp, loose or pointed parts. All toilets, hand washing, and bathing facilities are in safe and sanitary operating condition. All floors are clean and safe. All kitchen, food preparations and storage areas are kept clean, free of litter, rubbish, and free of rodents and other vermin. All storage containers for solid waste, including moveable bins, have tight-fitting covers that are kept on, and in good repair. Drinking water is readily available both indoors and out. This facility uses a local vendor to bring in bottled drinking water for use by children in care. Outdoor activity space surfaces are free of hazards. The areas around or under high climbing equipment, swings, slides and similar equipment are cushioned with material that absorbs a fall. LPA observed compliance with staff-child ratios. Menus are posted where an authorized representative may view them. Facility has one or more functioning carbon monoxide detectors that meet statutory requirements.
