Licensee maintains documentation of immunizations for influenza, pertussis, and measles for herself and staff. Licensee’s Pediatric CPR/First Aid are current expiring on 10/16/2023. Licensee stated that she and her assistant tried to log into the website to renew the mandated reporter training certificates, but the system would not allow them to do it as two years had not lapsed since the initial date of their trainings. Licensee stated they intend to renew the trainings this weekend. Licensee's mandated reporter training was completed on 01/14/2020 and her assistant's training was completed 01/05/2020. Licensee is aware that any authorized employee of the Department may enter and inspect any place providing personal care and services at any time, with or without advanced notice. Days and hours of operation are Monday – Friday; 6:30 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
LPA & Licensee discussed the Community Care Licensing (CCL) website (www.ccld.ca.gov) which provides access to Provider Information Notices (PINs), Quarterly Updates, Mandated Reporter Training, Forms, and Regulations. Licensee stated she is receiving PINs and updates through email. LPA discussed infant items permitted in Family Child Care Homes and left a visual handout. LPA provided Licensee with the “Effects of Lead Exposure” brochure in accordance with AB 2370, Chapter 676, Statutes of 2018.
LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with licensee and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-and-resources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPA also informed licensee of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment.
Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
