25 | On 12/08/22 Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Araceli Gibson conducted an unannounced One Year Required Inspection and was met by Licensee, Shannon Cardenas and hours of operation are Monday through Friday hours are 6:30 AM to 4:30 PM.
LPA toured the home inside and outside. Licensee had 12 children in care. Licensee confirmed that the living room, family room, dining room, kitchen, bathroom, and back yard are used for providing care and are accessible to children. All other rooms are off-limits and made inaccessible by use of safety gates and spinner knobs. Swimming pool is fenced per regulation. The pool gate is self-latching, self-closing and opens away from the swimming pool. No windows or doors have direct access to the pool area. There are no firearms or ammunition on the premises. Detergents, poisons, cleaning compounds, medication and other hazardous items were inaccessible to daycare children.
There is a working fire extinguisher, smoke detector, carbon monoxide detector and adequate heating and ventilation for safety and comfort. Facility has stairs and a second floor, which is off limits to daycare children made inaccessible by a safety gate. The fireplace in the home is secured with a screen inaccessible to daycare children. Safe toys and play equipment are observed. The home has working telephone service and LPA confirmed the phone number is (559) 593-2491.
There are 5 infants enrolled but have alternate schedules meaning not all infants are not present at the same time. Licensee is aware she is licensed to care for four infants at maximum at one time with an assistant for other children in care reaching no more than 12 daycare children total. During today’s inspection four infants were present. LPA discussed Safe Sleep Regulations with licensee. There is one crib or play yard for each infant in care. Cribs and play yards are kept free from all loose articles and objects while infants are sleeping, and there are no objects hanging above or attached to the crib or play yard. Infants are not swaddled while in care. Continue on 809C.
