25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Norma Lomeli conducted a capacity increase inspection from a Small Family Child Care Home to a Large Family Child Care Home. Present at time of inspection, Licensee, Sandra Martinez-Zavala and Licensee's Assistant, Eriberto Alvarez who is also her husband. Licensee, her husband, one adult daughter and three minor children reside in the home. Verified licensee, licensee’s assistant’s CPR and First Aid are current. Licensee’s and Licensee’s Assistant certification was completed through Pediatric Plus with EMSA certified stickers and expires on 4/5/2020. Background criminal record clearances are verified and discussed, and LIS 531 is signed indicating that the adults living in the home and/or providing care and supervision to children are background cleared. Fire clearance was granted on July 24, 2019.
A tour of the home, inside and outside, as shown on the facility sketch, was conducted and the following was discussed and/or observed:
- Fire clearance was received on August 27, 2019. Licensee states that fire inspector did not require for her to install a fire alarm.
- LPA observed children size furniture and safe toys books. There were four day care children.
- Licensee states she does not have weapons, firearms, ammunition or poisons in the home.
- Facility has a 2A10BC fire extinguisher, carbon monoxide alarm, working smoke alarm and first aid kit in place.
- There are two small dogs in the home that are kept inside a inaccessible bedroom. Licensee is advised it is her responsibility to ensure the safety of children in care at all times from the pets.
- Licensee is advised at least one staff member with current training in pediatric first aid and pediatric CPR is to be on site at all times children are present.
