25 | On 01/31/2024, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Jose Penate, conducted an unannounced Annual Required Inspection and was met by Licensee, Sandra Martinez Zavala. Also present was Staff #1. Days and hours of operation are Monday through Friday 5:00AM to 5:00PM. The home has working telephone service and LPA confirmed the phone numbers are 559-823-2046 & 559-643-1049.
LPA toured the home inside and outside and a census was taken. Current facility sketch was reviewed and Licensee confirmed that the kitchen, dining room, bathroom and living room are used for providing care and are accessible to children. All other rooms are off-limits and made inaccessible by use of child safety gate and spinning door knob covers. Licensee reported that the outdoor play area in the backyard is no longer accessible to children. There are four dogs. Licensee understands the liability of pets around day care children and accepts responsibilities of any action taken by pets. There is no swimming pool or other bodies of water on the premises. There are no firearms or ammunition on the premises. During todays inspection LPA Penate observed ORTHO Orthene Fire Ant Killer in kitchen sink cabinet that did not have a child lock and poison was accessible to children in care. In living room thumb tacks, staples, furniture hardware(screws & nails), and a child car seat that was accessible to children in care. In the accessible restroom LPA observed lotions, medicated cream, cleaning products (glass cleaner & Comet), advanced silicone, shaving razors, and dog shampoo that were all accessible to children in care. The hallway closet previously had a child lock, but at the time of inspection the child lock was missing/broken, in the closet was glass cleaner, air fresheners, and hair color products. Also, in the hallway closet was the Parent Board that was not displayed in the entry way of the home, after discussion with the licensee and the importance of having documents for parents to view, she placed the Parent Board back near the entryway of the facility.
There are no fireplaces or open face heaters in the home. There is a working fire extinguisher, smoke detector, carbon monoxide detector and adequate heating and ventilation for safety and comfort. There are no stairs in this home. Safe toys and play equipment are observed.
