25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Norma Lomeli conducted a capacity increase inspection from a Small Family Child Care Home to a Large Family Child Care Home. Present at time of inspection, Licensee, licensee’s minor daughter and five day care children. Licensee, her husband, one adult child and two minor children reside in the home. Verified licensee’s and Licensee’s Assistant, Olivian Ozua CPR and First Aid certification are current. Licensee’s certification was completed through American Heart Association and expires on April 20, 2021 and licensee’s Assistant was completed through Pediatric Plus and expires on January 2, 2020. Background criminal record clearances are verified and discussed, and LIS 531 is signed indicating that the adults living in the home and/or providing care and supervision to children are background cleared. Fire clearance was granted on May 16, 2019.
A tour of the home, inside and outside, as shown on the facility sketch, was conducted and the following was discussed and/or observed:
- Fire clearance was received on May 16, 2019. Licensee states that fire inspector did not require for her to install a fire alarm prior to the inspection.
- LPA observed children size furniture, safe toys and books.
- Licensee states she does not have weapons, firearms, ammunition or poisons in the home.
- Facility has 2A10BC fire extinguisher, carbon monoxide alarm, working smoke alarm and first aid kit in place.
- Licensee is advised at least one staff member with current training in pediatric first aid and pediatric CPR is to be on site at all times children are present.
