25 | On this date, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Luisa Gavoutian conducted a case management – licensee initiated inspection. LPA met with Licensee Nicole Schemel and took a census. Also present was fingerprint-cleared assistant Madison Oatley and Licensee’s fingerprint-cleared husband, Joshua Schemel. The purpose of today’s inspection was to license two additional bedrooms for daycare use.
During today’s inspection, at Licensee’s request, LPA inspected the master bedroom and bathroom and another bedroom for daycare use. Licensee stated the bedrooms will not be regularly used for daycare purposes, but Licensee wanted to have them available. LPA observed no hazardous items in the master bedroom and bathroom. All drawers and dressers containing hazardous items were latched with child safety latches. In the second bedroom, LPA observed some accessible toiletries and other items which could pose a danger to children. Licensee is to make hazardous items inaccessible by removing them or installing child safety devices and is to notify LPA when completed prior to granting access to daycare children. The accessible areas of the home are the play room, living room, dining area, kitchen, bedroom 1, bedroom 2, master bedroom, master bathroom, hallway bathroom, and fenced backyard. Bedroom 3 is pending licensure upon removal of hazardous items.
No deficiencies observed in the areas inspected today.
This report to be made available to the public upon request.
