25 | On January 10, 2022, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Brannon, conducted an unannounced Annual Required Inspection and was met by Licensee, Dorthina Morris. Also present was Staff #1 (S1). Days and hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 6 AM to 6 PM.
Upon arriving at facility, LPA observed that licensee and children were wearing face masks to assist in mitigating the spread of COVID during this time of COVID pandemic. LPA reviewed with licensee pursuant to the Order of the State Public Health Officer (June 11, 2021), childcare providers must comply with requirements in the Guidance for the Use of Face Coverings issued by the California Department of Public Health (CDPH). The current CDPH Guidance for the Use of Face Coverings (July 28, 2021) requires all individuals in childcare settings wear face coverings while indoors, regardless of vaccination status.
LPA toured the home inside and outside and a census was taken. Current facility sketch reviewed. Licensee confirmed that the kitchen, dining room, bathroom near the kitchen, one bedroom and living room are used for providing care and are accessible to children. All other rooms are off-limits and made inaccessible by use of child proof spinning doorknob covers. There is no swimming pool or other bodies of water on the premises.
There are no firearms or ammunition on the premises. No poisons were observed during the inspection. Detergents, cleaning compounds, medication and other hazardous items are made inaccessible.
The fireplace located in the living room is made inaccessible by a glass door and will not be in use during day care hours. There is a working fire extinguisher, smoke detector, carbon monoxide detector and adequate heating and ventilation for safety and comfort.
There are no stairs in this home. Safe toys and play equipment are observed. The home has working telephone service and LPA confirmed with licensee the contact phone number is (559) 779-4000.
