25 | On 10/09/2023 Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Pa Kou Vue conducted an unannounced Annual Required Inspection and was met by Licensee Edie Ferguson. Days and hours of operation are Monday to Friday, 7:00AM-5:30PM.
The home has working telephone service and LPA confirmed the phone number is (559) 352-6389.
LPA toured the home inside and outside and a census was taken and there were 6 children and 3 infants in care. LPA observed Licensee was out of ratio. Licensee stated her assistant had called-out for the day and a parent was called and will be picking up an infant at 11:00AM. LPA reviewed current facility sketch (LIC 999A) and Licensee confirmed that the playroom, bedroom 2, bedroom 4, bathroom, kitchen, dining room, living room and the backyard are used for providing care and are accessible to children. All other rooms are off-limits and made inaccessible by use of a baby gate and doorknob spinners. During LPA's tour, LPA confirmed with Licensee if laundry room was off-limits to children in care. Licensee stated yes, the laundry room is off-limits per the facility sketch. LPA observed no door knob spinners in use and reminded Licensee to install door knob spinners/latches to make laundry room off-limits. Laundry room may be accessed from accessible bathroom and accessible hallway from entry to living room.
There is no swimming pool or other bodies of water on the premises.
Licensee stated, there are no firearms or ammunition on the premises. Licensee stated all poisons are kept in a locked shed in accessible backyard. Detergents, cleaning compounds, medication and other hazardous items are made inaccessible.
There is one fireplace in the home located in the living room room and is made inaccessible by a screen door and will not be in use during day-care hours. There is a working fire extinguisher, smoke detector, carbon monoxide detector and adequate heating and ventilation for safety and comfort.
