25 | Licensing Program Analyst David Wilson conducted a Required inspection for buildings A, B and C, which are the three classrooms of this license. The facility file was reviewed prior to this inspection. This is a Head Start facility operated by Glenn County Office of Education. Operating hours are: Classroom "A" 8:15am - 2:15pm, Classrooms "B" and "C" 7:30am - 3:00pm (class "C" is a toddler component). The facility was toured inside and outside and the floor and yard plan were verified. The items which could pose a danger to children (detergents, cleaning compounds and medications) were inaccessible to children. Director Frias stated no poisons are stored on site. The facility was free of flies, insects and rodents. The toys, floors, desks and other equipment and surfaces appeared clean, toxic free, safe and in good condition. There is uncontaminated drinking water available to children both indoors and outdoors (indoors and outdoors via water fountains and can supply water from jugs into individual disposable cups). The children’s bathrooms appeared in safe and sanitary condition. A current menu was posted. Food prep areas are clean. Food is properly stored and free of contamination. Garbage cans containing solid waste have tight fitting lids. The playground was free of hazards. The two playgrounds (one shared by rooms A & B and one used for room C) equipment and surface areas appeared in safe condition. There is adequate cushioning underneath climbing structures and/or play equipment sufficient to absorb falls. There were no bodies of water observed. The director stated no weapons are stored on site and none were observed. Upon LPA's arrival, children in "B" were exiting the program for the day and in the other two classrooms children already departed. At least one staff member in each class possessed current CPR and First Aid certifications. Seven children’s records were reviewed and are in compliance. The sign in/out procedure was reviewed and in compliance.
