25 | An inspection was made to the facility by Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), David Wilson. The facility file was prior reviewed & staff are fingerprinted under Glenn County Office of Education (GCOE) as a condition of employment. This is a Head Start/Title 5 combination center operated the GCOE, with a separate preschool license. Operating hours are 7:30am-3:00pm, Mon-Fri all year. The facility was toured inside & outside. The floor & yard plan were verified. Activity space for infants is separate from other age groups. Infant & toddlers each have separate classrooms & play in the designated outdoor activity at separate times. This facility's outdoor area is separate from preschool program. The items which could pose a danger to children (such as detergents, cleaning compounds & medications) were observed to be inaccessible to children. Administrator Callahan stated poisons are not stored at facility. The facility was free of flies, insects & rodents. Toys are safe for infants & in good condition. There is uncontaminated drinking water available to children indoors & outdoors. The infant changing tables have at least 3" sides & sanitary vinyl pads that are at least 1" thick. The toddler bathroom & hand washing area appeared to be in safe & sanitary operating condition. There was sufficient napping equipment available that meet requirements. Prepared food is brought to the facility via GCOE, readied & served for children's consumption at facility. A current menu was posted in classroom & in kitchen. Food prep areas are clean. Food is properly stored & free of contamination. Garbage cans containing solid waste have tight fitting lids. The playground was free of hazards. The playground equipment/surface areas were in safe condition & with adequate cushioning under climbing structures &/or play equipment to absorb falls.No bodies of water was observed. Administrator stated no weapons are stored on site & none were observed. During today's inspection, staffing ratios were being met & there were seven toddlers being supervised by at least two teachers/aides & there were six infants being supervised by at least two teachers/aides. The facility was operating within the licensed capacity. At least one staff member present during the visit possessed current CPR & First Aid certifications. Four children’s records were reviewed & contained identification forms with authorized representative information. Two staff records were reviewed & contained health screening forms. The sign in/out procedure was reviewed & in compliance. This facility is providing Incidental Medical Services (IMS) to children; no children currently enrolled require IMS treatments. This report was reviewed & discussed with Administrator Callahan. All licensing reports are public information must be made available upon request for at least 3-years. Notice of Site Visit shall be posted for 30 days from today. There were no Title 22 deficiencies cited during inspection. |
