25 | The facility inspection was conducted via telephone call due to the current state of emergency regarding the COVID-19 outbreak. An inspection was made to the facility by Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Snow who toured the facility with the Director, Wendy Hill by video in response to a request to add an additional room to help ensure physical distancing. The facility file was reviewed prior to this visit. The director is aware that all facility staff or other individuals who require caregiver background checks have received criminal record and child abuse index clearances or exemptions. This program is operated by College of the Redwoods, Child Development Center which is part of Head Start and a Title 5 funded program.
The facility is located on a college campus with multiple rooms in one building referred to as Child Development Center (CDC). During the visit 9 children were, within ratios, being supervised by 6 staff.
This is a combination Infant and Preschool (and up to 12 additional school aged children) located at the south end of the parking lot. The facility’s operating hours are 8:15 AM- 4:15 PM Monday-Friday. Room CD 101 is the new (school age) classroom being added today and the other rooms already licensed for care are CD 105, 106, 108, and 112. The facility was already measured and approved for 72 children and now additional space is being added; a new fire clearance that includes the new room (#101) was received on 7/21/20. The facility has 20 toilets and 20 sinks which exceeds required number of bathrooms and sinks required. Staff have separate bathrooms. All licensing reports are public information and must be made available upon request for at least three years. This report was reviewed and discussed with Director, Wendy Jones. The new room, #101 is approved as part of the licensed facility effective today 7/23/2020. |
