13 | On 06/29/2021, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Kiriko Lynch conducted a closing complaint investigation and met with the Center Director. It was alleged an inappropriate interaction occurred between children in care. The Center Director, Office Manager and three center staff were interviewed on 04/05/21, 06/15/21 and 06/29/21, and denied the allegation. Center Director stated the alleged incident involving two children of same age could not happen due to more than adequate staff supervision was provided on the playground on the day in question, and the tire structure where the incident allegedly happened was inaccessible to children due to the large mass of wood chips inside the structure, and structure has since been converted to completely block access to the inside of the tire. Three parents/guardians whose children currently attend the facility were interviewed on 06/16/21, and four children were interviewed on 06/15/21 and 06/16/21, and there were no disclosures corroborating the allegation. LPA also conducted a tour of the facility and observed the playground area in question, and reviewed records related to the complaint allegation. Based on interviews, observations, and records review, LPA did not find a preponderance of evidence to corroborate the allegation. Although the allegation may have happened or is valid, there is not a preponderance of the evidence to prove that the alleged violation occurred, and the finding is unsubstantiated. An exit interview was conducted, and appeal rights were provided. |
