On 03/24/2023 at 9:45 AM, an annual inspection was made to the facility by Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Kiriko Lynch. This program is operated by College of the Redwoods, Child Development Center which is part of Head Start and a Title 5 funded program. The facility is located on a college campus with multiple rooms in one building referred to as Child Development Center (CDC). This is a combination Infant and Preschool with Toddler option. The facility’s operating hours are 8:15 AM- 4:15 PM Monday-Friday and operates during the College of the Redwoods academic calendar year. The preschool operates in 3 rooms (105, 106, 108), and the infant and toddler programs operate in 3 rooms (112, 114, 101). LPA toured facility inside and outside. Three staff were supervising six children and operating within the licensed capacity and ratio requirements. There are no pools or bodies of water on the premises. The outdoor activity space was cushioned with foam rubber padding and grass. Five children's records were reviewed at 11:30 AM. Three staff records were reviewed at 11:45 AM. Facility representative was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with facility representative and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-and-resources/safe-sleep as an additional resource.
