25 | The facility inspection was conducted via video due to the current state of emergency regarding the COVID-19 outbreak. The LPA conducted an announced case management visit to approve the use of an additional classroom #2 to the already licensed “main room”. The Director, Nancy Danel provided an updated facility sketch and the fire clearance was approved on 2/4/2021.
The facility’s operating hours are 7:75 am – 5:30 PM Monday to Friday. The new room was toured inside and outside and the floor plan submitted by the licensee were verified. The items which could pose a danger to children (such as detergents, cleaning compounds and medications) were observed to be inaccessible to children. LPA observed a furnace located in a closet locked with a high latch and a doorknob cover on a closet containing cleaning products on a high shelf. There are 2 sinks & 2 toilets in the bathroom which is sufficient for the capacity of 24.
Poisons are locked in a closed located in the kitchen. The facility was free of flies, insects and rodents. The toys, floors, desks and other equipment and surfaces are clean, toxic free, safe and in good condition. There were no bodies of water observed. The Director stated no weapons are stored on site and none were observed. During today's inspection, staffing ratios were being met and 8 children were being supervised by 3 teachers/aides. The facility was operating within the licensed capacity. At least one staff member present during the visit the Director possessed current CPR and First Aid certifications. This report was reviewed and discussed with the Director. All licensing reports are public information and must be made available upon request for at least three years.
There were no Title 22 deficiencies cited during today's inspection.
The LPA will review the file for approval of the additional room #2.
Notice of Site Visit shall be posted for 30 days from today's visit.
