25 | (1)LPA Armando Locano completed an un-announced annual site inspection today, to ensure the facility is maintaining the health and safety standards as required by Community Care Licensing (CCL) Regulations governing Child Care Centers. The facility is in the process of assigning a new director, LPA met with lead teacher Martha Ponce and toured the facility, there were no infants present, the facility does not have a large number of children currently enrolled, there are only approximately 6 infants currently enrolled. LPA toured the facility and reviewed, menus, sign in and out sheet, rest room areas, indoor space, classrooms and equipment to ensure compliance with CCL Regulations. Per tour of the classrooms, a variety of age-appropriate, toys, materials and equipment were available for children’s use. Storage areas were verified to be properly locked and inaccessible, waste baskets were properly covered and drinking water was available for children in classrooms. Outside playground areas were toured and verified to be properly fenced, with proper age appropriate equipment for children’s use and proper shade was available. Children’s records and staff records were reviewed, LPA verified required forms were in order in children and staff files. There were operational Type II 10ABC fire extinguishers and working smoke and carbon monoxide alarms in the facility, CPR, First Aid and Mandated Reporter certificates were verified to be up to date for staff.
Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. For IMS information see Evaluator Manual - Regulation Interpretations and Procedures for Family Child Care Homes Section 102417. The facility does not have any children requiring any type of IMS and will update a plan if any children should be enrolled in the future. LPA discussed new LEAD information regarding effects of lead exposure and verified copy of handout has been provided to the facility. Per new Senate Bill 792 pertaining to immunizations, which require all adults in daycare operation to have proof of immunizations for; Measles, Pertussis or Whooping Cough and Influenza or Flu, verification of required immunizations was provided for all staff. There are no deficiencies cited on this visit, all documentation was in order, properly posted and the facility was found to be properly childproofed. LPA provided copy of LIC 9213, “Notice of Site Visit,” and observed posting of notice during visit. |
