LPA Armando Locano completed an un-announced case management site inspection today. The purpose of the visit is to ensure the facility is maintaining the health and safety standards as required by Community Care Licensing (CCL) Regulations governing Child Care Centers. Director Marhta Ponce was out during the visit, met with lead teacher Esther Ramos, no children were present during the visit a second teacher was present at the facility. Lead teacher verified director Marhta Ponce is regularly present during the center operation and is the only one in charge of the operation. Ms. Ramos explained that there is currently low enrollment and no children were brought to the facility today.

LPA toured the facility, reviewed menus, rest room areas, classrooms and equipment to ensure compliance with CCL Regulations. Per tour of the classrooms, LPA observed a variety of age-appropriate, materials and equipment available for children’s use. Storage areas were verified to be properly locked and inaccessible, waste baskets were properly covered and drinking water was available for children in classrooms and outdoor play areas. There were operational Type II 10ABC fire extinguishers and working smoke and carbon monoxide alarms in the facility. A review of staff records today, November 5, 2019, indicates that all facility staff or other individuals who require caregiver background checks have received criminal record and child abuse index clearances or exemptions.
