25 | On 09/07/2022, at 1:25 pm, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Claudia Amador conducted an unannounced Annual Inspection. LPA met with Licensee Josefina Alvarez and disclosed the purpose of the inspection. The Licensee and the LPA toured the inside and outside of the facility. This facility is one story, four-bedroom, two-bathroom house; the following areas are used for childcare: living room, dining room, kitchen, bedroom #1, and bathroom. Off-limits areas include the garage, bedroom #2, #3, #4, and master bathroom which are made inaccessible through locks, and doorknob covers. There is no fireplace in the facility.
Hours of operation hours are Monday – Friday, 8:30 am to 6:00 pm. There were three (3) children present during the initial inspection, two (2) infants and one (1) preschooler. During the inspection, the LPA and the licensee’s sister stayed in the facility while the licensee left with the children to pick up two school age children. Licensee’s sister, Maria Avitia is cleared and is visiting.
The fire extinguisher, smoke detector, and carbon monoxide detector met the requirements. Hazardous items were inaccessible to children in care. LPA informed licensee poisons shall be placed in a storage area and locked. LPA did not observe any poisons during the inspection. The storage area for poisons is locked. LPA observed toys and materials available for children's use. The home has a fenced backyard available for outdoor activities. LPA informed Licensee to ensure children are supervised at all times during outdoor activities. The Licensee stated there are no bodies of water, and LPA did not observe any bodies of water during the inspection. The Licensee said there are firearms and ammunition in the home. The firearms and ammunition are stored in a locked safe. Safe is locked in the off limits master bedroom made inaccessible with door knob cover and heavy duty door chain lock. The LPA did not observe if the firing pins and ammunition is stored separately. The licensee’s husband has the pin code to the safe and he was not present to open. The Licensee will provide images. |
