25 | On 5/3/2023, at 10:45 am., Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Vicky Williamson conducted an unannounced annual required Inspection. LPA met with the Licensee, Altagracia Lucero and assistant Xiomara Lucero and disclosed the purpose of the inspection. Also present was assistant Yolanda Escobedo. Assistant Xiomara Lucero aided as a translator due to licensee's primary language is Spanish. There were 9 daycare children (two (2) of whom are under 24 months) present in the facility during this inspection. Days and hours of operation are Monday - Sunday from 4:00 am -8:00 pm.
This single story, 3 bedrooms, 3 bathroom home was inspected. The following areas are used for day-care: bathroom 1, playroom, kitchen, living room, front yard. Off limits areas include: bedroom 1, bedroom 2, bedroom 3, bathroom 2, bathroom 3, backyard. They are made inaccessible to day care children through the use of door locks.
The fire extinguisher, smoke detector, and carbon monoxide detector met requirements. Hazardous items were made inaccessible to children during the inspection. The licensee has toys, play equipment and materials available. Licensee stated that there are no bodies of water on the premises. LPA observed no bodies of water on the premises during the inspection. Licensee stated there are no weapons in the home. The last fire drill was conducted on 4/3/2023 and the last earthquake drill was conducted on 4/12/2023.
A review of staff records on this date indicates that all facility staff or other individuals who require caregiver background checks have received criminal record and child abuse clearances or exemptions. Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. |
